Top Ohio State Parks Based on the Vote for Your Favorite Ohio State Park Campaign

The first official Ohio State Parks Week was a success! Governor Mike DeWine and Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted issued a proclamation recognizing April 22-April 29, 2022 as Ohio State Parks Week. Throughout the week, we asked park goers to vote for their favorite parks, visit the parks, and consider donating to their favorite park via the Ohio State Parks Foundation.

In total, there were 7,525 votes! We were overwhelmed by the passion for Ohio State Parks and generous donations.

We seperated the voting into two categories based on size and annual visitors to level the playing field.

Below are the top 5 winners from each category:

Keystone Park Winners

  1. Hocking Hills State Park
  2. Mohican State Park
  3. Salt Fork State Park
  4. Maumee Bay State Park
  5. East Harbor State Park

Gemstone Park Winners

  1. Marblehead Lighthouse State Park
  2. John Bryan State Park
  3. Beaver Creek State Park
  4. Stonelick State Park
  5. Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park

Everyone who voted was entered into a contest for a 2-night camping stay at any Ohio State park of their choice (depending on availability) and an official Ohio State Parks Passport

The winner of the contest was Amy Erich of Mentor, Ohio. Amy was thrilled to hear she had won, stating, “We are so excited and can’t wait to camp again!” Amy voted for Beaver Creek State Park and Salt Fork State Park. Congratulations, Amy!

Contest Winner, Amy Erich

Ohio State Parks Week may be over, but you can still consider supporting our Ohio State Parks by making a donation today.
