“We always notice how extensive the park systems are because parks are a determining factor in where we will retire someday.  But based on what we’ve seen so far, the parks in Ohio have yet to be beat”, said Liz.

THANK YOU LIZ!

Liz’s love for Ohio State Parks started at a young age when she, her parents and her two older brothers spent family vacations at Hueston Woods State Park. Their days were spent outside — biking, swimming, golfing, and exploring nature. “There was so much to do and see,” remembered Liz. “We never grew bored.” Liz has fond memories of the cabins they stayed in and remembers her mother using a heavy cast iron skillet, which was a staple of the cabins’ kitchens back then, to cook the family meals.

Liz said she gives to the Ohio State Parks Foundation because she values the green space that can be visited by everyone at no charge. “It’s important to have these beautiful spaces that benefit everyone’s physical and mental well-being. Keeping up with maintenance and protecting them is something we want our donations to be used for.”
